DSC02342On April 9th, 2016, I was invited to display my art by Sam Elias and Mike Giampietro from M&T Bank.

The show was held at the Camden Clearwood Apts. Clubhouse on Mercantile Drive. The community event was well attended despite the April snow!

I believe everyone had a good time. The Egyptian fare was delicious!

I framed my originals for this show. it was a combination of realistic watercolor paintings and a new series of watercolor and also acrylic ocean abstracts. I provided the following explanation for the inspiration:

Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 10.22.19 AMRecently, I have come to appreciate the calming effect of minimalistic art.  I have enjoyed creating minimalistic paintings of the ocean. Being in the ocean or sailing on the ocean gives me the experience of God’s frightening power and all encompassing  exhilarating love. I have been focusing on the four elements of water, sun, sky, and birds, all of which have movement and energy while creating peace and serenity. There is a  faithfulness in their movement.
Before Michael and I had our seven daughters from which I named my gallery “Seven Sisters”, we lost our only son. This allowed me to identify with God’s pain in losing his only Son. Jesus invited me to a personal relationship with himself at age 15. He has journeyed with me these past 40 years. I look forward to the glorious place He is preparing for me in heaven. It’s my joy to have my relationships and art reflect his beauty.
